Chapter | Del Oliveros al Olivieri. La traducción
Abstract
This article is the second part of a study on the Italian version of Oliveros de Castilla (Olivieri di Castiglia, Venice, Francesco Portonari, 1552) and focuses on its translation modalities. Far from being a faithful version of the original text, the Italian novel adapts the intrigue and style of the original to the expectations of an audience that knew the most successful Castilian books of chivalry that had been translated into Italian since the 1540s.
