We publish journals and books in digital format across various research fields, in numerous languages, and immediately online in their entirety and free of charge.

Our content is published following the:

  1. a scientific evaluation process, under the responsibility of the Scientific Directors of each journal and series, via a dedicated peer review platform and in adherence to ECF's policy;
  2. editorial care, which includes:
    • complete reading and verification for consistency with editorial and bibliographic standards;
    • careful control of the content and structure of the texts;
    • meticulous typographic layout.

All of our publications (from individual articles or essays to entire monographs) are equipped with a set of metadata describing them and with DOIs based on the best reference standards, to facilitate broad indexing in the most reputable catalogues and citation collection.

Books

Our series follow exactly the same practice as the journals. Monographs and edited books are published under the responsibility of a Scientific Direction, which oversees the quality check of the texts and evaluation processes. Our books are systematically published in digital format, and in many cases, also in print edition.

Journal Articles

The Scientific Direction of each journal independently oversees its editorial and scientific policies; it handles the call for papers, selection of proposals, identification of qualified reviewers, and the subsequent dissemination of content. All of our journals are published exclusively in digital format.

Mandatory Publication Guidelines
To ensure the proper start of the peer review process and the subsequent editorial workflow, authors and editors are required to verify in advance that the submitted materials are complete and compliant. To support this process, we provide a concise document setting out the essential operational requirements for launching the editorial project. The document outlines the information required for monographs and edited volumes, the mandatory requirements for submissions, the procedures for file anonymisation in double-blind peer review, the criteria for editorial compliance, the guidelines concerning images and rights, as well as the main formal and organisational steps involved in the publication process.
