Jáuregui traductor
abstract
Though well known as translator, Jáuregui has not enjoyed much attention from critics except, perhaps, on his largest translations (Aminta and Farsalia). Nevertheless, his short works deserve attention because it is possible to see the poet closely at work, particularly in the small details. The odes analyzed bellow allow the reader to compare the translations from Greek into Latin and Spanish (anonymous Dido), and how Horace I, III can be render into the author’s language with certain freedom but also originality.
