dc.description.abstract	Donkeys, asses, and mules in Cervantes’s Exemplary Novels and in Don Quixote emerge from this short analysis not as invariable topics or static symbols, but as unstable figures performing in a dynamic way, both within and without the narrative plot. The observation of their kinetic appearances seems to be productive for the identification of distinguishing features in Cervantes’s narrative texture.
