abstract

The writer Miguel de Cervantes had travelled to Italy before writing all his literary work and lived there during six years. Because of that trip, he would later remember what he had learned in that country, so some of his works include a lot of Italian references, such as trips to its cities, its typical food, and so on. The Novelas ejemplares is the masterpiece where Cervantes constantly introduces Italian references, and of several kind: the great majority are geographical, historical, cultural and linguistic elements. The Novelas ejemplares includes twelve short novels, and I have found many Italian references in every one of them.
