Chapter | El hispanismo rumano y la traducción del teatro clásico español
Abstract
This essay approaches the development of Hispanic studies in Romania, focusing on the reception of classical Spanish theatre. In order to achieve a better understanding of this phenomenon, we propose a different division of its main phases, based on the circulation of information. Subsequently, the three stages are: the historical background, the professional formation of the Romanian hispanists and their translations and the staging of the plays, as a main echo of these translations.
