Abstract
One of the most obvious difficulties in a foreign language class is to generate interest and to actively involve all the students. Based on the hypothesis that DDL (Data-Driven Leaning) would be a good practice in teaching a foreign language also for middle school students, we proposed the learning of some linguistic phenomena concerning French grammar (morphology, syntax) through concordance analysis in FLE classes. Our DDL courses were held with the collaboration of our FLE colleagues. The students learned to use an adequate metalanguage to describe the discovered phenomena and they became aware of the importance of the linguistic cotext of a keyword.
