Da estrangeiridade em Marília Garcia

Abstract
In her text “The poem in the test tube”, Brazilian poet Marília Garcia recalls the global Ebola outbreak of 2014 and recounts a personal memory: the numerous tests and examinations she underwent at the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration during a stay in France. In this context, the immigrant is someone that must be tested. What relationships are thus established between foreignness and suspicion of disease? How does Marília Garcia’s poetry – between namely Parque das ruínas (2018) and Expedição: nebulosa (2023) – allow us to question history and geography, resist testing devices, and question the boundaries of the world?
