Abstract
In the literature on substantive subordinate clauses in Spanish it is common to find references to the ungrammaticality of ‘es probable + infinitivo’, assuming that the modal predicate that is part of it can only be combined with flexed verbs in the subjunctive mood. Several examples that seem to defy such ungrammaticality will be analysed, suggesting some clues to their explanation and to conduct further research on this topic.
