Abstract

This study examines the symbolic circulation of Makunaimî and Macunaíma as a poetics in metamorphosis, attributed to Brazilian Indigenous cultures. It draws on Néstor García Canclini’s concept of interculturality in a negative key, understood as a field of conflict and asymmetrical negotiations. Through the analysis of different texts, combining bibliographic review and comparative reading of literary and verbo-visual texts, the study shows that Indigenous resurgence affirms ontological differences and reconfigures aesthetic and political strategies of interculturality.
