abstract

In this work we will take into consideration some aspects of the part of vocabulary that students usualy memorize as a series of fixed sentences. The etiquette formulas are means of expression determined by cultural traditions and interpersonal relationships. A conscious approach to the learning of these units would help to avoid mistakes and make the correct choice between the synonimic formulas featured by different register, social context and pragmatic intentions. By placing the formulas, even non multiword ones, in the field of the phraseology, it is necessary to investigate their structure, degree of semantic transparency, literal meaning and non-conventional use.
