The fall of fascism in Portugal caused a revolutionary and anti-colonial excitement, but also resulted in postmodern literary reinterpretations, in reactionary positions and, although at first it seemed absent, it had an impact in the revival of Iberianism both in Portugal and in Catalan culture.
