Abstract
Este libro tiene el objetivo de profundizar en la relación entre el teatro clásico español y el cine a través del análisis de un corpus estudiado solo en parte y recientemente rescatado por la crítica. Se tratan cuestiones teóricas sobre la adaptación cinematográfica de un texto dramático y se reflexiona en torno a épocas significativas en la historia política y cultural del siglo XX, como la producción artística del exilio y la del régimen franquista; también se tiene en cuenta la aportación creativa de las realizaciones más recientes y su impacto en la sociedad contemporánea.
