Mario Vargas Llosa: Cinco esquinas o el demonio de la (re)escritura
abstract
As he said in 1996, Mario Vargas Llosa always looked for a challenge when he was writing a novel. In spite of this declaration, he used to resort to a combination of narrative lines that will connect at the denouement. It is the case in The Neighbourhood (2016) where the author resumes a few technics frequent in the New Hispano-American Novel, where he goes back to his old demons. Nevertheless, this article will try to demonstrate rather than a rewriting, the author is offering to his reader a synthetic perspective of his literary world.
