abstract

A work of temporary experimentation, never definitive, in the unfinished Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo in Santiponce, Seville, on the occasion of the commission to consolidate its architecture in the process of ruin, which uses the technique of steganography, which allows texts to be hidden or messages inside other objects. These deteriorating architectures will be the support to incorporate, through the strategy of quotation, artistic elements in the form of glazes and lattices – according to Carl Andre, Cristina Iglesias, Esther Ferrer and Elena Asins –, which codify the names, words and texts of the literary monks, reformers and wanderers, who occupied it before becoming exiles. And that they serve to recover the memory of those pro-Lutheran monks who decided not to accept reality as it was, but rather questioned it, going into exile and translating the well-known Bear Bible and Pitcher Bible.
