Abstract
Language disadvantage resulting from low schooling and lack of adequate language skills is a condition that can affect native and migrant learners present in different educational settings. The prison context the spaces of the school, and thus of language education, represent spaces where vulnerable learners can reclaim the use of speech. The learners who populate prison classrooms, in fact, often have backgrounds characterized by weak literacy, histories of school dropout and interrupted educational paths. Through an analysis of the existing context and literature, we will illustrate how appropriate glottodidactic proposals can help reduce the social exclusion of vulnerable individuals through specially designed educational pathways.
