Il Futurismo veneziano
F.T. Marinetti e i suoi seguaci
Abstract
This article deals with F.T. Marinetti’s ‘passatist’ Venice declared in his manifesto Contro Venezia passatista (1910). The presence of the Futurists in the lagoon city is based on newspaper clippings and will be introduced chronologically. This paper includes various events, such as scandalous soirées, conferences, and artistic and theatrical activities. In line with the historical background, Marinetti’s literary works portraying Venice will be discussed – from a theatre play to a posthumously published text and an unpublished manuscript. The analysis of the visual texts will be based on the theories of the semiotician Algirdas J. Greimas.
