In particular, the relationship between its prose and poems is investigated, thereby highlighting the considerable autonomy of prose from verse, since the author’s main concern is to outline a moral and spiritual path. Finally, the Commento is examined in relation to the other works by Benivieni, evidencing his unswerving tendency towards self-interpretation.
