Capitolo | Yuri Pimenov’s Portrait of Architect Burov
Abstract
This article overviews the image of Andrey Burov, a constructivist architect, an innovator, a publicist and a former student of VKHUTEMAS, in the portrait created by Yuri Pimenov. The architect's image encodes a whole layer of culture of that period, the openness of Soviet artists and architects of the 1920s to the world art trends, their awareness of the world as a single whole moving towards progress and of humanity on the threshold of grandiose positive changes.
