Controversy and Satire at the Time of Khrushchev’s Artistic Thaw

Abstract
Taking into consideration the period of Khrushchev’s artistic Thaw (1956-62), the article analyses, with the help of satirical cartoons of the time, the leading and most widespread judgments expressed by Soviet criticism on contemporary Western art.
