dc.description.abstract	Paolo Sarpi, having passed the age of fifty, took the opportunity of the Interdict dispute to step out of his conventual world and become the promoter of a fight against the yoke that burdened Italy because of the Hispanic-Pontiff diarchy. His word becomes the weapon of a political-religious action, of unmasking the deceptions of the Roman Church that has usurped the sovereignty of the State, called back to the civil values of its mission.

abstract
