dc.description.abstract	Anna Akhmatova’s translations are usually considered as a secondary aspect of her literary activity; they deserve, however, to be seen not only as the sad consequence of adverse life circumstances, but also as a major contribution to poetry. In particular, the translation of the poem “Či dæ” by the Ossetian poet Kosta Khetagurov gives us the possibility to compare three slightly different versions. The analysis of the translation variants allows a glimpse of Akhmatova’s smithy, pointing out to the fact that she performed this extremely difficult task very scrupulously. At the end the three versions of the Russian text are synoptically edited.
