Une approche au motif urbain dans l’œuvre d’Abdelwahab Meddeb
Abstract
Starting from the consideration that the rise of postmodernity subverted the traditional supremacy of time over space within social studies, the article deals with the theme of the city in Abdelwahab Meddeb's literary work. Urban space becomes the place of encounters and hybridization, in line with a textual strategy that conjoins identitarian discourse and claims for plurality. The city becomes a labyrinth in which the poet-promeneur retrieves the symbols of multiple referents, all embedded within the space of the text.
