Abstract
This paper analyses fish names in Alessandro Caravia’s two poems in Venetian dialect, Verra antiga (1550) and Naspo bizaro (1565), which belong to the Venetian piscatory genre, which is best known to scholars for famous works such as Lettere (1547-1556) and Bizzarre, faconde et ingegnose rime pescatorie (1553) by Andrea Calmo.
