Il cuore di tenebra di Picnic at Hanging Rock
Il mito nel romanzo di Joan Lindsay
Abstract
The paper offers a close re-reading of Joan Lindsay’s novel, interpreting it, on the one hand, in the light of classical myth and its manifold and multiform survivals within Western culture – particularly in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries – and, on the other, by setting it in dialogue with Heart of Darkness, another novel situated at the margins of the British colonial empire, where civilization encounters an arcane and unsuspected dimension.
