Capitolo | L’obrador dels Cormellas
Abstract
This essay describes, through notarial documentation, the commercial project of the Cormellas family. The owners of the company, based in the city of Barcelona, controlled one of the most important presses of the seventeenth century, with the greatest capacity to print and market the literature of the time. Through the study of the documents, we will obtain a first glimpse of the literature they printed, but also of the books they were able to distribute, acting both as the printing centre of the Crown of Aragon and as a periphery in the extensive network of literary commercialisation of the period.
