Dialoghi in dialogo: dall’epos alla tragedia
abstract
The comparison between the construction of dialogue in the Homeric poems and in Attic tragedy (exemplified through the analysis of Aeschylus’ Persians and Euripides’ Bacchae), leads to the detection of elements of similarities and some divergences, as already observed by ancient critics. Similarities and differences are well explained by considering both the mode of performance and the practice of actual dialogue.
