Marco Gradenigo feudatario veneziano a Creta «soço laro, scogoçado da prevedi»
abstract
During the first half of the 13th century, Venice organized its dominion on the island of Crete through the establishment of military fiefdoms. In 1299 and 1300, two of the owners of these fiefs were engaged in a judicial dispute with the rector of the town of Chanià for prohibited gambling and other crimes. The procedure, based on numerous testimonies released in Latin and in the Venetian language, apparently ended with the acquitall of the accused.
