Abstract

In the particular form of a letter, this critical analysis focuses on the prose writing of Gabriele d’Annunzio, from the novelistic and romance story to the exploration of shadows and personal recherche, between elzeviro and fragment. In the analysis, the attention goes to the studies dedicated over the years to the topic by Pietro Gibellini, also referring to the contributions by Ilaria Crotti on the same subject: not a retrospective, solipsistic look on individual contributions, but an attempt to compose them in a summary, in order to follow the turning point, or rather the turning points, that led the author to move from one genre to another.
