Abstract
The essay aims to reconstruct the events of 1913 on the basis of archival material kept in the International Gallery of Modern Art in Venice. Thanks to the documentation found, it was possible to follow the conception and realisation phases of the exhibition and reenact the exhibition itinerary in the rooms of Ca’ Pesaro. The analysis of the correspondence of Nino Barbantini, Secretary-General of Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, has allowed to outline the youthful spirit that was present at that juncture at Palazzo Pesaro, a place symbol of the renewal of Italian art in the early 20th century.
