The Reception of Pascendi dominici gregis in Austria as Reflected in Episcopal Sources (1907-1914)

Abstract
The article examines the reception of Pope Pius X’s encyclical Pascendi by the Austrian bishops. In the first part, the bishops’ reactions to Pascendi will be discussed on the basis of documents of the Austrian bishops’ conference. The second part shows the reaction and response of the bishops to the papal circular letter against Modernism in particular dioceses.
