Research Article | The Importance of Cultural Values in Intercultural Communicaton: Italians and Rumanians in Contact
Abstract
In the intercultural contexts the participants not only interact on the linguistic and extra-linguistic level, but unwittingly negotiate the ‘frames’ belonging to theirs culture of reference. This study is oriented to examin some ‘communicative barriers’ that originate from the cultural values underlying the communication between Italian and Romanian interlocutors. The cultural background could act as communicative filter because is internalized in the minds of the speakers in an unconscious way.
