The Legendary by Pietro Calò and the Tradition of the Million of Marco Polo
Abstract
In this essay four new excerpts from the Legendarium of Pietro Calò OP derived from Marco Polo’s book are presented for the first time and published in a critical edition. Also included in the essay is a new edition of the already known passage deduced from Marco Polo on St. Thomas the Apostle. The new excerpts confirm and strengthen the link between Marco Polo and the Dominican Convent of Venice.
