Chapter | As mulheres imigrantes portuguesas sob o véu da invisibilidade
Abstract
Traces the route of historiographical research on women and / immigrant, especially the Portuguese. Thus, the author lists important academic works in which the female character - their personal, family and working life in the land of origin and / or destination - gains focus. The work is ordered into three parts: an overview of works that deal with issues related to female gender, family, work and production, among others, in Brazil and abroad; queries related to the above, but specifically geared to the Portuguese immigrant; International congress presentation and creation of research groups that fomented investigations also about women and / Portuguese immigrants, but recently held in the twenty-first century. Concludes that, despite the difficulties in portraying the woman and /Portuguese immigrant, whether the male numerical superiority or the absence of documentary evidence, in the last two decades there has been a considerable effort to highlight its place actually acting subjects in the process and migration.
