La geografia del Prometeo
Abstract
This article examines the major geographical issues raised in the third episode of Aeschylus’ Prometheus Bound. Particular attention is paid to the divergences in Io's itinerary compared to that presented in Aeschylus’ Suppliant Women, the problematic localisation of the Chalybes (PV 714-16) and the Amazons (PV 723-28), the identification of the Caucasus and the location where Prometheus was chained, both in the Desmotes and in the Lyomenos, after his re-emergence from the Underworld.
