Abstract
The travel story constitutes a voluminous record in Latin American history. The story of the experience of cultural crossing extends from the chronicles of the conquest to contemporary authors. A selection of texts by Sergio Pitol, including travel diaries, chronicles and autobiographical stories, is the focus of this investigation into the variations and ups and downs of a literary form that reflects the experience of cultural exchange.
