Abstract
In the complex process of integrating Tycho Brahe into the framework of the Jesuits authorities, it was of crucial importance to confine Tycho Brahe's influence to the realm of mathematics. Accordingly, Jesuits such as J.C. Gall initially reinforced the traditional distinction between mathematics and natural philosophy.
