I trasporti marittimi in Italia fra l’Unità e la Seconda guerra mondiale
Abstract
Ferro e vapore. Intorno a questa endiadi, nell’Ottocento, prende forma la rivoluzione dei trasporti marittimi. La cesura con il passato è icastica, sorprendente, definitiva. In una manciata di decenni vengono stravolte consuetudini plurimillenarie, con i tradizionali velieri in legno che si trovano prima affiancati, poi sostituiti da imbarcazioni in metallo alimentate meccanicamente.
