The impact and the incidence of the phenomenon of violence to the detriment of women in the territory of Modena are analysed. Concurrently, the main aspects of the approach of support and treatment enacted by the operators of the centre are underlined and the possible, suitable tools to sustain a cultural evolution of women identi ed. The quantitative and qualitative methodologies adopted (case-studies, trend analysis, ‘life-stories’, support interviews) have enabled to focus on several aspects of the problem: the person culpable of the violence, the reconstruction of the victim’s ‘self’, the effects produced by violence on the children who were present. The investigation has led the operators to deepen and strengthen the methodological aspects: they availed themselves of new technologies in order to support a more ef cient and effective spread of the information in the social eld.
