Abstract

An overview of the research conducted at two Adriatic sites in northern Apulia is presented: the port city of Siponto (Manfredonia) where excavations are currently investigating the phases of the medieval city, and the maritime rock sanctuary on the island of Sant’Eufemia at Vieste, ancient Uria, first pagan, dedicated to Venus Sosandra, then Christian, and finally used by the staff to operate the lighthouse built on the island in the second half of the twentieth century.
