Reconfiguration culturelle de la mémoire de l'esclavage et de la traite dans les romans de Léonora Miano, Wilfried N'Sondé et David Diop
Abstract
Slavery and the slave trade are widespread themes in Caribbean literature, but for a long time they were virtually absent from French-speaking sub-Saharan African literature. In recent years, however, Afropean authors have made it a major theme. Léonora Miano’s La Saison de l’ombre (2013), Wilfried N’Sondé’s Un Océan, deux mers, trois continents (2018) and David Diop’s La Porte du voyage sans retour (2021) offer what Achille Mbembe, in Sortir de la grande nuit (2010), refers to as a “cultural reconfiguration”, specific to “the age of dispersion and circulation”.
