Da fumetto a video fumetto
Garantire l’accessibilità attraverso la traduzione intermodale dall’italiano alla LIS
Abstract
This study investigates the interlinguistic and intermodal translation of comics from Italian to Italian Sign Language (LIS). A group of Master’s students in Translation and Interpreting at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice translated two graphic novels, combining static images with the dynamism of signs in a video comic. The analysis explores both technical and linguistic aspects. Key linguistic challenges include using role-shift and maintaining spatial coherence between LIS translation and the visual elements illustrated in the panels. The presence of a Deaf reviewer in the translation team is crucial in assessing the translation’s accuracy, adequacy, and usability.
