Sciascia, la poesia, Montale
abstract
The article aims to deepen the analysis of Leonardo Sciascia’s approach to poetry, from his debut in 1952 with the book of verse La Sicilia, il suo cuore to his decision to abandon poetic writing after that first experiment. The possible motivations for this choice are discussed and at the same time Sciascia's enduring interest in poetry is reported; the argument is deepened by analysing the writer's relationship to the poet who was fundamental for his generation, Eugenio Montale.
