Sui binari dello sfruttamento
Posted workers nella morsa dei lavori pubblici tra Svizzera e Danimarca
abstract
Large public works represent a strong interest for companies from countries other than that of the client. Contracts are often granted to companies offering the lowest price. Though, this market and contract award logic has a cost. It’s a cost that workers pay, who generally are posted workers or temporarily hired on site. There are frequent cases of exploitation of workers who work twice as many hours and at a lower wage than that provided for in the relevant collective agreements. This essay shows the alleged abuses of an Italian conglomerate against a number of posted workers employed in two major public construction sites, one located in Switzerland and the other one in Denmark. There are many similarities that suggest a pattern to save money by exploiting the labour’s workers.
