Tradurre Víctor Català
Un’analisi del monologo catalano La infanticida e delle sue traduzioni in spagnolo e italiano
Abstract
The article examines Víctor Català’s La infanticida through a multilingual lens, focusing on its Italian and Spanish translations. It contextualizes the monologue within Català’s modernist poetics, its rural setting, and its portrayal of female oppression. The study highlights how metrical, cultural, and dramaturgical constraints shape translation choices, revealing shifts in tone, erotic nuance, and symbolic meaning. It argues that the theatrical nature of the text directly conditions translation decisions.
