Abstract
The chapter analyzes the structural characteristics, objectives, and performance of network contracts based on data collected through the 2025 survey. In particular, it provides a description of networks in terms of their sector of activity, age, size, and composition, with a specific focus on resource complementarity and market overlap among member firms. The chapter also examines the main goals driving the formation of networks and analyzes networks’ perceptions regarding the adequacy of their composition and the availability of financial resources to achieve the intended objectives. Finally, the chapter explores the relationship between network structure and several dimensions of network performance.
