dc.description.abstract	In the past decades, Italian migrant workers in Switzerland did not have a high level of education. In contemporary migration the situation is radically different: most of the Italian migrants own a university or high school degree. However, their career possibilities are not com- parable to those of nationals. It has been estimated that, from 2011 to 2013, 38% of German and French people have been employed in management positions, while the percentage of Italians and Spanish arrives at only 25%. This article deals with various aspects of the Italian migration in Switzerland from an historical and political point of view.

In the past decades, Italian migrant workers in Switzerland did not have a high level of education.
