Abstract

The present study examines the utility of digital tools and data mapping in highlighting the dissemination of imported ceramics across various locations, based on specific case studies in the Peloponnese and Crete, with a particular focus on amphorae. Furthermore, the limitations imposed by the nature of the material itself are analysed. Concurrently, the study provides a concise overview of the fundamental elements regarding seventh-ninth century amphorae in the Central and Eastern Mediterranean, with an emphasis on the analysis of their contents and on their use, in order to enrich the discourse on their distribution and commercialization.
