Cortes de Jupiter di Gil Vicente: alcune note di lettura
Abstract
Il drammaturgo portoghese Gil Vicente è ritenuto uno dei maggiori autori teatrali della letteratura occidentale, nonché il primo e più importante autore teatrale della letteratura portoghese. Eccellente esempio del suo stile inimitabile, Cortes de Jupiter (1521) è uno dei suoi lavori teatrali di maggior fascino. Questo studio ne analizza in particolare alcuni passaggi, quelli che riguardano la figura del principe ed erede al trono D. João, il personaggio della Mora incantata con il suo specifico linguaggio e infine il matrimonio dell’infanta Beatriz, per i cui festeggiamenti l’opera fu scritta.
