Introduzione
Abstract
The introduction examines the main issues raised by the comedy. It first investigates its chronology and setting, the identification of the dedicatee Rutilius and the anonymous author, as well as its original form. It then considers, among other aspects, the relationship with the preceding literary tradition (mainly comic and Plautine), the linguistic and stylistic features, the Late Antique characteristics, the manuscript tradition, and the Fortleben.
